Sharapova serves up Bouchard defeat

Maria Sharapova is into the Australian Open semi-finals for the third time in four years, after dispatching with Eugenie Bouchard on Tuesday.

Second seed Sharapova tamed the threat of seventh seed Bouchard, prevailing 6-3 6-2 in one hour and 18 minutes on Rod Laver Arena to set-up a last-four clash with fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarova.
