Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Roma defender Mehdi Benatia on an five-year contract.

The Bundesliga champions had been heavily linked with centre-back Benatia after Javi Martinez suffered a serious knee injury in their DFL Supercup defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
